Bayswater lies along the northern edge of Kensington Gardens, with Paddington to the north-east and Notting Hill to the west. Queensway and Westbourne Grove are its two busy high streets, and between them run streets of Victorian terraces, many now divided into flats and small hotels. One of them, Leinster Gardens, even hides the Underground behind a false front.
